TikTok diamond calculator

Enter a number of diamonds, or a gift value in coins, and see what it comes to in dollars. Plus an explanation of how the money actually travels from viewer to creator.

Calculate

What are you working from

Enter a number to see an estimate.

Want it in your own currency?

TikTok pays in dollars. Enter your bank rate and a second line appears below.

An estimate, not a statement. Coin prices differ by bundle, country and app store, and payout fees and tax come off the top. Only your own TikTok app shows the exact figure.

How the money travels

Three steps sit between what a viewer pays and what a creator receives. That is why those are two very different numbers, and why it helps to know both.

  1. The viewer buys coins

Coins are bought in the app and cannot be refunded. Larger bundles cost less per coin, so there is no single fixed price.

  2. Coins go out as a gift

Every gift has a coin price — from one coin for a Rose to nearly 45,000 for TikTok Universe.

  3. The creator receives diamonds

Part of the gift value reaches the creator as diamonds. The platform keeps the rest.

  4. Diamonds are cashed out

Diamonds convert to dollars and go to PayPal or a bank account, once the minimum payout is reached.

This is a sample, not the full catalogue. TikTok adds and changes gifts, so the app is the only accurate source.

Three terms that keep getting mixed up

  • Coins

The viewer's currency. Bought in the app, usable only for gifts, and neither refundable nor transferable.

  • Gifts

Animations a viewer sends during a broadcast. They carry a coin price and everyone in the room sees them.

  • Diamonds

The creator's currency. They come from gifts received, and they are the only thing that converts to real money.

Common questions

  • What is one TikTok diamond worth?

A diamond cashes out at 0.005 dollars, so 1,000 diamonds is about 5 dollars and 10,000 is about 50. Payout fees and tax come off that figure afterwards, depending on your country.

  • Why does the creator get so much less than the viewer paid?

Because the platform's commission sits between those two numbers. Roughly half the gift value reaches the creator as diamonds, and the gift itself cost the viewer more than its face value through the price of coins. The practical result is that about a fifth of what the viewer spent ends up with the creator.

  • How many followers do I need to receive LIVE gifts?

The usual threshold is 1,000 followers, with an account in good standing and no active restrictions. Cashing out requires you to be 18 or older. Rules differ by country, so what your own app says is always what counts.

  • What is the minimum payout?

Usually 100 dollars. Until you pass it, diamonds stay on the account and carry over — nothing is lost.

  • Is TikTok income taxable?

Yes. Money earned on TikTok is income like any other and is declared under the rules of the country you live in. Which form that takes, and at what rate, depends on whether you receive it occasionally or regularly — worth asking an accountant before your first large payout rather than after.

  • Why does the calculator not offer euro or dinar rates?

Because any rate we typed in would be out of date the same day. TikTok pays in dollars, and what that means where you are depends on your bank rate and its fee. So you enter the rate yourself — which makes the result more accurate than any figure we could set in advance.

  • Are these numbers official?

Diamond value and gift prices are publicly visible in the app. The coin price and the share the platform keeps are known from practice but vary by country and bundle, so read them as estimates. This calculator uses nothing TikTok has not made public.

You go LIVE and you want it to be the job

The calculator shows the arithmetic. What decides the outcome is a schedule you keep, a broadcast with structure, and an audience that returns. That is where an agency helps.
