Brand identity design that survives contact with reality

Most brand identity design dies in the first month, when somebody needs a social post at 5pm and there is no rule for it. We design the rules first, then the logo.

Branding — S1 Digital

Who this is for

  • Companies whose logo was made once, cheaply, and never revisited
  • Businesses that look smaller online than they are in person
  • Firms merging two brands, or splitting one in two
  • Agencies that need identity work delivered under their own name

What is included

One team for all of it — no juggling three vendors.

  • Logo and mark

The primary lockup plus the versions you will actually need — one color, small sizes, dark backgrounds, a square avatar.

  • Type and color system

Typefaces that are licensed and available, and a palette that survives print, screen and a cheap projector.

  • Brand guidelines

A short usable document, not a fifty-page PDF nobody opens. Enough for a printer, a developer and whoever posts on Monday.

  • Applied identity

Business cards, signage, vehicle graphics, packaging, presentation templates — the places the brand actually appears.

  • Rebrand from an existing mark

When the name stays but everything around it has aged. Usually cheaper and less disruptive than starting over.

  • 2–3 weekstypical delivery from a complete brief
  • All filesvector source, web and print exports, yours
  • 30 daysof adjustments after handover

What you get

  • Working files, not just a PNG

Vector sources, exports for web and print, and the fonts or their licence details. Everything transfers if you change studio.

  • Rules a stranger can follow

Clear spacing, minimum sizes, what is allowed and what is not. Written so your printer and your intern reach the same result.

  • Applications, not just a mark

We show the identity where it will live — on a sign, a card, a slide, a package — before it is signed off.

  • Two rounds of revisions

Included in the price. Further rounds are quoted, so the project cannot drift indefinitely.

How we work

  1. 01

    Research

What your competitors look like, what your buyers already associate with the category, and what you cannot afford to look like.

  2. 02

    Direction

Two or three routes, shown in context rather than as a logo on a white page. You pick one to develop.

  3. 03

    Refinement

The chosen route gets built out into a system — type, color, spacing, the awkward cases.

  4. 04

    Handover

Files, guidelines and a short session so your team knows how to use it. Thirty days of adjustments follow.

Common questions

How long does brand identity design take?

Two to three weeks from a complete brief for most companies. Add a week if we are also designing packaging or signage. The slow part is usually feedback, not design.

Do we own the logo?

Yes, fully, including vector source files and any commissioned artwork. The only exception is licensed typefaces, where you own the licence rather than the font. We tell you the cost before choosing one.

Can you work from our existing brand?

Often that is the better option. If the mark still holds up, we rebuild the system around it — type, color, applications — for less than a full rebrand and with less disruption to your customers.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many applications you need designed. We quote a fixed price in writing after a short call. Agencies buying identity work white label have published rates.

Who owns the process if we already have a designer?

You do. We can deliver the system and let your designer apply it, which is common with in-house teams. We flag anything that will break, then step back.
